Positive: This guesthouse is the perfect spot for a peaceful and relaxing few days on Ilha Grande. Away from the crowds of Abrãao, Ademilson's guesthouse in Araçatiba offers a beautiful escape and immersion into island life. For a very reasonable price you get a room that is clean, well-equipped and has a traditional, rustic feel to it, which suits the surroundings perfectly. The mattresses are particularly comfy - we slept very well every night we were there. Every morning an excellent spread of cheese, meat, bread, fruits, juices and coffee was laid out for us by our excellent host Ademilson. Laid back, friendly and very hospitable, no favour was too big or too small: Ademilson was always happy to help. He gave us many tips about the island, snorkelling masks to use (for free) every day we were there, we also organised a boat trip around the island with his son Daniel. We felt so relaxed and comfortable there than we changed our itinerary and stayed twice as long as we originally planned. Five minutes walk from Ademilson's guesthouse is Araçatibinha beach, where you can snorkel with sea turtles. Right opposite is an equally welcoming family-run restaurant (Aloha) which serves up an affordable and freshly made prato feito for lunch or dinner. Drop-off and pick-up from the pier right by the guesthouse made transport to and from Angra dos Reis very easy.

Negative: Nothing to complain about - it was a truly excellent experience!
