Summary: I chose this hotel because of its excellent reputation, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the entire hotel had an overwhelming smell of wood varnish due to renovations taking place in one of the ballrooms. The odor was so strong that it affected the overall comfort of the stay, and I don’t believe guests were adequately warned about it. During breakfast, a waiter named Kaio was extremely rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Good customer service is one of the main reasons people choose a higher-end hotel, and this interaction fell well below expectations. The most concerning issue, however, involved the valet service. I left my vehicle with the valet, and because my car is connected to a manufacturer app, I received five notifications around 3:00 AM indicating that my vehicle had been started and/or moved while it was in valet mode. I asked the parking staff about it during checkout, and no one could explain why my vehicle was being moved in the middle of the night. That lack of accountability seriously undermined my confidence in the hotel’s valet operation. Trust is essential when leaving your vehicle in someone else’s care. Between the unexplained overnight movement of my car, the rude service, and the disruption caused by the renovation odor, this stay fell far short of expectations.
